Objective: The purpose of this research is to describe and network analysis of bibliographic and manuscripts codicology of basic sciences available in the central library and document center of Tehran University.
Research Method/approach: In this bibliographic research, network analysis method has been used in order to visualize "subject and language" and "script and paper" networks. Bibliographic and codicology information 1707 for basic sciences manuscripts constitute this research’s statistical population. Checklist is the tool used in this study. Statistical software (Excel, Ucint, NetDraw, PRIMP) and social network analysis were used to analyze the data.
Findings and Conclusions: The findings showed that among the authors, Nasir al-Din al-Tusi with 85, Baha al-Din al-Amili with 56 and Avicenna with 37 books have the highest number. The subjects with the highest frequency are medicine, astronomy and mathematics. Most of the books are in Persian (59.92%), followed by Arabic (37.90%). Most of the books (199) was written in the 10th AH/16th AD century. There are 47 original books. Nastaliq and the Naskh have the highest number among all script types. The cover is made of leather and Sepahani and Samarqandi paper were the most types. Most of the inscription (229) were scribed in the 13th AH/19th AD century. According to the co-occurrence of "language and subject" and the co-occurrence of "script and paper" in a 5*22 matrix, the degree centrality index has been obtained in the subject of medical sciences, astronomy and mathematics in Persian, Arabic and Turkish languages. In the co-occurrence of "script and paper", the degree centrality index has been obtained in the script as Nastaliq, Naskh and Shikasta_Nastaliq, and in Sepahani, Samarqandi and Istanbuli paper. According to the centrality of language and subject, Persian, Arabic and Turkish languages have more frequency in medical, astronomy and mathematics topics. According to the indices of centrality of paper and script, Sepahani, Samarqandi and Istanbuli papers with Nastaliq and Naskh script have won the highest rank.
